Froggy's welcomes new frogs

Froggy's Fun on the Green, the City's free outdoor playgroup, recently welcomed a few giant frog sculptures to its Manning Park site.

Renowned Nyungar/Yamatji artist and elder Tjyllungoo (Lance Chadd) - creator of the prominent “Yagan” sculpture in Yagan square was commissioned to create three sculptures morphing from a rock to a frog; called Kwidjar Boorongor - Frog Spiritual Elder Brother (Totemic frog). It is an honour to feature Tjyllungoo’s artwork in Manning Park which has a rich Aboriginal history.

The official unveiling was attended recently by His Worship the Mayor Logan K Howlett, the artist, as well as Froggy staff and participants.

Get along to Manning Park for some leapfrog or join in a Froggy session on a Monday during school terms. On Tuesdays, Froggy sessions move to Meller Park in Bibra Lake. More info below.
