Budget 2023-24 - what does it mean for residents?
While inflation, interest rates and construction costs continue to climb in Western Australia, the Cityâs 2023-24 rates will remain some of the lowest in Perth.
To help alleviate costs for individuals and businesses, interest charges on all payment plans will be removed â including instalments, SmartRates and other customised plans. The administration fee for ratepayers receiving notices by mail will also be waived. Â
Cockburn is the proud home of the Dockers and we enjoy a strong relationship with the club. We have worked closely on a range of community projects and recently achieved another significant milestone â signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalise our successful partnership.

New plan guides access improvements for people with disabilities
The recently adopted Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP) has six initiatives focused on providing accessible services, information, buildings, customer service, complaint channels and public consultations, and creating further employment opportunities.Â
The City has made notable progress in improving access for people with disabilities. Achievements include enhanced accessibility at City-run events, upgraded facilities and signage, portable hearing loops, and touch screens at various City facilities.
Our digital 2023-24 guide provides all the information you need about waste management in one convenient place. In it, you'll find verge collection dates, detailed bin guides (which items go in which bin), and how to dispose of tricky and hazardous waste. Print copies are also available on request.
During NAIDOC Week weâll host a series of free events to educate and acknowledge some of the stories and traditions of our First Nations people. Whether itâs making kangaroo stew with Chef Kel at Cockburn Youth Centre, learning about the Wirlomin Nyungar Language Project with Kim Scott at Cockburn Libraries, or art and craft at Cockburn Gateways, youâll be fascinated by what you learn.
