Cockburn Volunteer Awards

Congratulations 

Outstanding residents and organisations that contribute hours to improving our local community every week – if not every day – have again been recognised at the City of Cockburn’s annual volunteer awards.

At the 2021 awards, three accolades recognise a Volunteer of the Year, a Cockburn Volunteer Organisation of the Year, plus a Mayor’s Volunteer Award, with 53 organisations represented among the 104 nominations.

Volunteer Positions Available in Cockburn

Cockburn not-for-profit organisations need your support, can you lend a hand? 545 volunteer roles across Cockburn require to be filled, with a variety of skill sets wanted. Can you make a difference in your local community?

Gift Wrappers - Heartkids 

Volunteers required to wrap shoppers' Christmas gifts in exchange for a gold coin donation and assist in the sales of HeartKids merchandise. All funds raised go towards supporting families affected by childhood heart disease. 

Want to volunteer in a hospital?

Fiona Stanley & Fremantle Hospital needs 100+ Volunteers needed! Volunteers make important contributions to our hospital and to the lives of our patients and their families. There are a number of ways you can get involved with our hospital.

Delivery Driver - once a month

Help us feed the tummies of families who attend Yangebup Family Centre Inc. They are looking for someone to pick up bread, buns and other goodies from a Bakery once a month. The Bakery is located in Leeming, you collect the baked goods at 5.55pm on a Monday evening and drop them off at the Family Centre in Yangebup, on Tuesday Mornings.

The 2021 cards are about to expire, to unlock discounts you need to have a validated card. Please register your volunteers for the 2022 cards by using the link below.

New Work Health and Safety Act

Work Health and Safety Act - Does it affect you? 

The new changes to the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 (WHS Act) are expected to come into force in January 2022. These changes may impact your organisation. Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety have prepared a number of documents to help organisations navigate the new WHS Act.

All Cockburn volunteer involving organisation are eligible to receive 500 free photocopies per month. Save money and time by printing flyers, posters (A4 & A3), constitutions, volunteer training documents, newsletters and other volunteer documents.

Email the staff at the Cockburn Volunteer Resource Centre to book in your printing.
