Everyone knows Amazon is the world’s dominant internet retailer.

And most people in Silicon Valley — and now Wall Street — know that Amazon is also a dominant provider of cloud computing power: Its Amazon Web Services unit, which supplies crucial services for everyone from Apple to Netflix to a galaxy of startups, did nearly $26 billion in revenue last year. That means it generated more money than McDonald’s — and it’s also a crucial source of profits for Amazon.

So we’re delighted that Andy Jassy, the man who runs that crucial business for Amazon, will be joining us at Code Conference this year. We want to know how Jassy, a longtime Amazon employee and one of Jeff Bezos’s most trusted lieutenants, built that business, how he’s fending off challenges from the likes of Google and Microsoft, and what’s next.
