Tech jobs rising

Nationally, tech hiring activity is at a two-year high.

In October, a survey by IT trade association CompTIA found that firms posted 360,065 tech jobs, which was a 76,000-opening increase. Tech companies, meanwhile, added 8,300 new employees. Overall, tech industry employment is up 140,000 in 2021, CompTIA estimates.

It comes at a time when the job picture is getting rosier for the economy as a whole. In last week's monthly jobs report, the federal government reported that the unemployment rate is down to a pandemic low of 4.6%, and the country added 531,000 jobs as a whole.

Did you find a new tech role this year, or change jobs? We're interested in talking to you to learn about what roles are open, and who is getting them. Email us at baltimore@technical.ly to get in touch.
