Foundational Kettlebell Moves for a Whole Body Workout

Back in the day, only the most hard core weightlifters used kettlebells. Now, everyone’s catching on to their effectiveness and versatility. With just 3-4 sizes of kettlebells stashed away behind your sofa, you can do a full-body resistance workout that you feel the next day.

The free weights at the gym are great, but you don’t always have time to get there. Or maybe your gym is still closed. Investing in a few kettlebells will give you the means to emulate some of the more savage strength-building movements that you get with an expensive trainer, without having to leave your house or cough up a membership fee. You can even incorporate kettlebells into your microworkout regimen.

Collagen Benefits

Science-backed Collagen Benefits for Bones, Heart, Sleep, and More

Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body, providing structure and support for the musculoskeletal and cardiovascular systems. Crucially, we need glycine from collagen to balance the lifespan-shortening effects of methionine in meat.

Today I’m going to highlight some potential benefits that have nothing to do with skin, nails, or hair. I’ll say up front that I’m firmly on the pro-collagen train. I’ve noticed great results personally from taking it. That said, I’m not trying to make wild claims about collagen as a miracle supplement. These are areas of research I’m watching with interest. I hope to see more studies that help us understand when, why, and how collagen is most useful.

Balsamic Chicken Recipe

Garlic Balsamic Chicken with Cherry Tomatoes

Whether you’re having friends over for dinner or you’re short on time on a weeknight, balsamic glazed chicken is a simple no-fuss meal that you can serve with virtually any side dish.

Ingredients

Directions
Pound the chicken breasts between two pieces of parchment using a meat mallet until they are uniform in thickness. Season both sides of the breasts liberally with salt and pepper. Saute the garlic in olive oil and add the chicken breasts to the pan to saute for 2 minutes on each side.

Add the balsamic vinegar and coconut aminos. Bring the mixture to a boil, then flip over the chicken again and reduce the heat to a simmer. Add the broth and the tomatoes and continue cooking over medium heat over the stovetop, turning the chicken every minute or so to coat it in the balsamic mixture. Cook until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit and the tomatoes are soft. Garnish with fresh basil and enjoy!

This week we welcome the lovely Laura Poburan to Health Coach Radio. Laura is a nutrition business coach and mentor to practicing and aspiring health coaches. She has spent a long time in the fitness industry, dispensing conventional health and fitness wisdom in the same way that conventional health and fitness wisdom has been dispensed for decades. That is until she had an awakening one day during a client meeting! Laura realized that there was a much more impactful and transformational way to work with her clients. Laura took a big leap, selling her gym that had recently expanded and devoting the time and energy necessary to become a masterful coach. During this episode, Laura shares what she has learned during her health coaching renaissance with the coaches she now mentors. In this episode we discuss the importance of understanding why you got into this field and never losing sight of that, the idea of turning down the fear voice and tapping into your intuition, her Trigger Mapping Certification, and trusting your gut feeling. We hope that you enjoy this chat as much as we did.
