A Celebration of Excellence: Social Soirée

The National Media Awards Foundation is thrilled to be hosting a long-overdue, in-person event at the Globe and Mail Centre this Thursday, September 29th, 2022. The Globe and Mail Centre features a cozy indoor lounge and a large outdoor terrace with stunning panoramic views of Lake Ontario and Downtown Toronto.

Come reconnect and socialize with friends and peers at our Celebration of Excellence.  Daniel et Daniel Catering will be serving up delicious nibbles and we'll be showcasing award-winning works from 2020 to 2022 across the National Magazine Awards, National Magazine Awards: B2B, and Digital Publishing Awards.

Fast Pitch is Going Virtual!

The National Media Awards Foundation is proud to offer Fast Pitch – a series of fifteen-minute, one-on-one sessions where past NMAF nominees and winners can pitch a story idea or concept to an editor and art director from one of Canada's top publications. This year, Fast Pitch will be completely virtual. This means that no matter where you're located, you can still participate! View the full lineup of editors and art directors here.

Finalists and winners from 2020 to 2022 receive a complimentary ticket to all Career Development Day sessions. Students attending completing a program in journalism or communications are also invited to attend the event for free. Please reserve your complimentary tickets as soon as possible.

Spotlight: Making the Most of Internships 1PM to 1:45PM Join us for a panel discussion where editors and former interns answer your questions about internship programs! This is a valuable opportunity for students, recent graduates, and hiring managers to get advice from industry leaders and recent interns on how to make internships better for everyone. 
Maximizing your LinkedIn Learning License 2PM to 2:45PM Have you or your team received a free LinkedIn Learning license? Are you interested in learning more about the Foundation’s specially-curated Masterclass series? Hear from Josh Keller with LinkedIn Learning as he covers the tips, tricks and best practices for making the most of this free resource!
Fast Pitch 3PM to 4:30PM This is an incredible opportunity to get your idea in front of editors and art directors from Canada’s leading, award-winning publications and magazines! Participants are allotted fifteen minutes in front of editors and art directors to bring forward a story or concept pitch. Spaces are limited. This session is open to past NMAF nominees and winners.
