Program promotes interprofessional healthcare team

Hoping to stop the “I’m the physician, you’re not” mentality, the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine (U. of C.) recently launched an interprofessional practice program with nurses and medical students. The program, Understanding Nursing: Interprofessional Team-Based Experience, seeks to break down the silos that often exist in medical education between different healthcare professions.

University of Buffalo IM residents awarded ACGME grant to focus on direct patient care

Members of the University of Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences internal medicine residency program were recently awarded one of 30 Back to Bedside grants from the ACGME.  The residents are using the grant to find ways to balance the increasing time spent entering data into electronic health records with the decreasing time spent on direct patient care.
