Today is World Cancer Day, an opportunity for the world to unite together in the fight against the global cancer epidemic.
Notable strides have been made against cancer, and we salute all the researchers, healthcare providers, survivors, patients, friends, and families battling this disease. But we know there’s much more to be done—at the individual and collective levels—to fight cancer.
MIT’s Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Researchis answering the call to action by using convergence—the foundation of its unique research model—to bring research progress to more patients, faster.
Convergence means our biologists and chemists, materials and computer scientists, and mechanical, chemical, and biological engineers, work collaboratively from the outset to quickly translate biological understandings into new therapies, tools, and technologies to find and beat cancer.
Watch the video above to hear Koch Institute investigators tell the story of how convergence accelerates their cancer research progress.
