So long, farewell ...Speaking of offense, the Saints released a veteran receiver on Tuesday, and it wasn't just any ole wideout. This guy was a former top draft pick, who at one time was a top target of quarterback Derek Carr in Las Vegas. Salary cap wizard earns promotionThe Saints announced a big move in their front office, when they promoted longtime salary cap guru, Khai Harley, to assistant general manager. Harley manages the club's salary cap and is a highly valued member of the team's internal brain trust, Zach Ewing reports. New Orleans Super Bowl names key leaderMarcus Brown, a top executive with Entergy, was named the chair of the New Orleans 2025 Super Bowl host committee at a press conference at the Saints' training facility. Brown will help lead planning, organizing and fund-raising efforts for the game, which will be played Feb. 9, 2025 at the Superdome. Bad news for a veteran defenderThe news wasn't all good Tuesday. Safety Marcus Maye reached a plea agreement on the 2021 driving under the influence charge that will give him six months probation as well as 50 community service hours.
