Commerce Bank to be acquired for $209M

Berkshire Hills Bancorp, Inc. will acquire Worcester-based Commerce Bancshares Corp. for $209 million in stock, Berkshire Hills announced Monday.

Responding to concerns from the state about access to inpatient psychiatric care in Central Massachusetts, UMass Memorial Health Care announced a formal partnership with Harrington HealthCare in Southbridge.

UMass Memorial-HealthAlliance Hospital is putting $37.3 million towards an expansion of its emergency room, a six-phase project expected to span over 30 months.

Biostage will be delisted from the NASDAQ stock market if it loses an upcoming appeal, after the company failed to raise its bid price to $1 within a given 180-day period.

As a result of steady rain in the area over the past few weeks, Worcester is finally out of an eight-month drought.
