This year’s Aspen Ideas Festival will be hitting all the high notes. We’re thrilled to offer a variety of musical experiences for attendees to enjoy, featuring the following artists:
Grammy award-winning rapper Common
Americana band Hurray for the Riff Raff
Rhythm and blues singer-songwriter Son Little
- Indie-rock band Wildermiss
Music in the Garden Evenings at Ideas will feature a unique one-hour performance in the Marble Garden. Son Little will
play a solo set based on his latest album “Like Neptune.” Get a taste of Hurray for the Riff Raff’s newest album, “The Past is Still Alive.” Listen to some lyrical brilliance from Common. And dance in the wilderness with Wildermiss.
Field Recordings In collaboration with NPR Music, Field Recordings at Aspen Ideas will take artists off the beaten path and into magnificent Anderson Park for unamplified outdoor performances with the stunning backdrop of the Rocky Mountains. Aspen Ideas Festival attendees are invited to attend these 20-minute afternoon acoustic performances, which will be recorded and distributed by NPR Music. Join us for stripped-down performances with Hurray for the Riff Raff, Son Little, and Common.
A limited number of passes are still available, and the Festival is expected to sell out.

Festival Fellow Spotlight
|
Meet Jahnavi Rao, a 2024 Festival Fellow and the founder and president of New Voters, a nonpartisan organization on a nationwide mission to help young people register to vote. “Our vision is that every high school student votes in their first election and becomes a lifelong civic participant,” Rao says, “ultimately building a democracy where those in power prioritize youth input and issues.” Learn how she founded the organization when she was 17 years old and how it’s grown to over 400 high school chapters with 80,000 young students registered to vote. Madeleine Albright on Fighting Fascism
|
A longtime friend of the Festival and member of the Aspen Institute Board of Trustees, Madeleine Albright was a diplomat, professor, author, business leader, and the first woman to be the U.S. Secretary of State. In 2018, she sat down with Aspen Institute President and CEO Dan Porterfield to discuss her book, “Fascism: A Warning.” She explored what tools in the national security toolbox we can use to fight fascism, talked about her childhood and long career as a diplomat, and explained why she calls herself an “optimist who worries.” Ultimately, their conversation discussed answers to our
most important question: How do we save ourselves from repeating the errors of our past? Watch
