The Baton Rouge company behind a 146-unit single-family rental project in Youngsville has bought 22 acres near Duhon Road and Johnston Street for a similar project. As the real estate market is still in readjustment mode, the rental market remains a hot lane to be in both in south Louisiana and across the country. It's something to watch as many would-be homebuyers are getting squeezed out of the market amid higher interest rates, higher prices and way-too-low pool of available homes for sale.
