Company behind large single-family rental project in Youngsville buys 22 acres for similar project

Good morning, Acadiana business news readers. It's business news time. Let's dive in. 

The headlines from the rental home construction sector has been quiet, but another one hit on Monday. The Baton Rouge company behind a 146-unit single-family rental project in Youngsville has bought 22 acres near Duhon Road and Johnston Street for a similar project.

As the real estate market is still in readjustment mode, the rental market remains a hot lane to be in both in south Louisiana and across the country. It's something to watch as many would-be homebuyers are getting squeezed out of the market amid higher interest rates, higher prices and way-too-low pool of available homes for sale.
