Injections and Infusions Workshop

Compliance and overall revenue integrity relies on orders, nursing documentation, correctly applying coding rules, capturing charges, and more.

Challenges lie in decoding the CPT® facility coding hierarchy for injections and infusions to correctly apply all of the CPT coding rules, guidelines, and parenthetical notes, as well as ensuring that accurate and complete documentation supports each case.

Students will start this live training session by taking a true/false quiz to gauge their current drug administration knowledge. Next, they’ll undergo a detailed review of CPT coding guidance along with specific Medicare guidance for facility reporting, which is critical to understand because it sometimes deviates from the CPT book. After the review, students will interactively apply all they’ve learned about facility coding to 10-12 clinical scenarios, using the CPT coding hierarchy for intravenous injections and infusions.

This review will cover some of the most difficult-to-answer questions
as well as inquiries commonly fielded by our experts.

Bring your entire team to HCPro’s Injections and Infusions Workshop led by expert Jugna Shah, MPH, to ensure your facility properly documents, charges, and codes for both chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy injection and infusion services, including hydration services.

You will leave this program knowing how to:

  • Use the CPT coding hierarchy to report hospital-based drug administration/intravenous injection and infusion services
  • Report initial, subsequent, and concurrent services
  • Apply all of the principles learned to clinical scenarios
  • Employ best practices for documentation of injections and infusions
  • ...And Much More!
