Healthcare associated infections can be complicated by emerging antibiotic resistance. Antibiotic resistance is the ability of microbes to resist the effects of drugs – that is, the germs are not killed, and their growth is not stopped. Infections with resistant organisms are difficult to treat, requiring costly and sometimes toxic alternatives. Dr. Srinivasan will address how best to prevent healthcare associated infections and combat antibiotic resistance.

It is the responsibility of each organization to assess its clinicians to ensure the provision of safe patient care. In this webinar, we will review five of the top root causes of sentinel events revealed by The Joint Commission in 2016 and discuss how they can be reduced or prevented through proper staff assessment and development.
