Conflict between Louisiana Republicans; LSU drops a game

Some Republicans in the Louisiana Legislature are furious with each other. In the tumultuous end to the session, when a budget was passed with minutes to spare and some lawmakers only found out about big changes to it afterwards, some in the GOP are publicly taking shots at House Speaker Clay Schexnayder, and others are firing back. 

Here's a deep look inside the intra-party tensions and what's causing them. 


Baton Rouge was set to host a FIFA-endorsed soccer match between the national teams for Barbados and Honduras, in what some believed could have been a big step forward for the city's sports scene. 

But then, just hours before the game was supposed to start, it was abruptly canceled. 

Here's the story of what went wrong, and how one of the teams, the match's organizers, and the city's parks department are all at odds. 


LSU's baseball team fell to Wake Forest last night. The Tigers started off strong behind Tre Morgan, but things fell apart in the sixth inning.

They're down. But they're not out yet.
