Happy first day of brushing snow off your car/sidewalk/face! Tomorrow, expect similar flurried conditions — think another one to three inches of slushy snow for much of central Minnesota. Tread and travel carefully out there. Get the latest on Updraft.

More than 300 crashes reported on snowy Minnesota highways
An early-season light snow made for difficult driving and walking conditions today. While a headache and safety concern for many drivers and pedestrians, the snow also was a welcome sight for Minnesotans eager to get their winter game on.

Boil water advisory issued for parts of Maplewood, eastern St. Paul
St. Paul Regional Water Services is cautioning area customers to boil water before cooking or drinking. A water tower problem may have let contaminants seep.
 
7 killed in two Sunday shootings at Virginia and Idaho state universities
The University of Virginia shooting suspect was apprehended this morning after a 12-hour manhunt; the University of Idaho deaths are suspected homicides.
