A lawsuit brought by three ride-hail drivers, a ride-hail customer and the Service Employees International Union is arguing that California's Proposition 22 is unconstitutional and limits the powers of lawmakers to protect gig worker rights. Proposition 22 -- put forward by Uber, Instacart, Lyft and DoorDash -- was passed by voters in the November election, allowing the companies to classify gig workers as independent contractors.

A study in the UK by Openreach found that women were 200% more interested in submitting an application for an engineering job when the job advertisement's language was amended to use different phrases and gender-neutral terms.
