Economy

Big banks are stockpiling billions of dollars in cash to cover bad loans in a sign they expect the economic downturn to worsen [Bloomberg].

The White House unveiled a new ad campaign highlighting alternate ways to start a career targeting the millions of Americans who lost their jobs because of the coronavirus pandemic. The effort was quickly bashed on social media for being tone-deaf [AP].

The Trump administration dropped their policy change requiring foreign college students to leave the country if their classes were not meeting in person [CNN].

Kansas GOP Rep. Steve Watkins was charged with three counts of felony voter fraud. He is accused of using a UPS store as his home address to vote in the 2019 municipal election [Politico].


Population

Scientists say the world population will peak at more than 9 billion in 2064, then begin to decline to 8.8 billion in 2100 [Bloomberg].
