You all been reading long range forecast? More rain and more mud for this spring again is a very high probability! I really don't care what people think and it might be crazy, but I'm trying to rip fields any day I can now. Even if I'm slipping to my 24% cutoff number. Then hoping for a dry out, or warm up, freeze up and finish work it and be plant ready. Well why not just no-till, you ask? Not with the amounts of standing water in a lot of places or as frequently this past spring. We all have had 2 years that our dads, grandfathers, and great-grandfathers all say they've never seen anything like it! Yes I know there's a point when you just can't do it, but weigh whether you'll be doing yourself more good than harm. Just some thoughts, right, wrong or indifferent this year. It paid off in couple fields last year. So why not, right? When you go down for repair delays and weather delays sometimes you just have to ignore the calendar for few days.
