Louisiana tort reform languishes despite Republican super majority

Gov. Jeff Landry led a campaign that strengthened Republican standing in the Legislature. But one issue that seemingly would have conservative support — tort reform targeting big damage claims — is falling short, despite support from business interests. Staff writers Tyler Bridges and James Finn examine what's happening with the issue.


The search for a new superintendent for East Baton Rouge's school district got off to a late start. And, as staff writer Charles Lussier notes, that doesn't give the school board much room for error.


Last month's solar eclipse was a bit of a bust in Baton Rouge as were this weekend's Northern Lights. But some intrepid folks in Louisiana were able to capture images of the aurora.
