Dear John, You know how important research funding has been to develop new treatments giving our loved ones who are fighting prostate cancer longer and better lives. Today, we are asking you to speak out by contacting your members of Congress to support critical federal funding for prostate cancer research. What is Happening? Congress is currently debating the prostate cancer research budget for fiscal year (FY) 2021. Congressmen Sanford Bishop (D-GA) and Peter King (R-NY) are leading a bipartisan effort to circulate a letter around the House of Representatives that asks their fellow Congressmen to provide $110 million for prostate cancer research funding in the Prostate Cancer Research Program (PCRP). Again, this letter applies to only your Representative in the House and NOT the Senate. Why We Need You to Act Today If not enough Members of Congress add their name to this letter, prostate cancer research funding will be at risk for being cut. Your concerns and needs as a constituent are important to your Member, so let your voice be heard! Men and families impacted by this terrible disease are depending on you! What You Need to Do (60 seconds) Reach out to your Member of Congress and urge them to maintain level funding for the PCRP at $110 million! Fill out this form to send an email to your Member of Congress, urging them to support robust funding for the Prostate Cancer Research Program. After submitting, you will be able to type in up to ten of your friends' and loved one's email addresses to help spread the word! Please help build momentum by forwarding this email to your friends and posting on social media with the hashtag #EndProstateCancer. Yours in this fight, Patrice Brown VP, Patient Programs & Advocacy
