George Floyd died from asphyxia after blood and air was cut off to his brain, apparently by police officers pressing on his neck and body, according to an independent autopsy report released Monday. The report differs from that of the county medical examiner, which said there was no evidence of asphyxia. Floyd’s death, which was videotaped by passersby last week, led to the arrest of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin on murder and manslaughter charges and set off protests across the nation."That's homicidal," said Dr. Michael Baden, the former chief medical examiner of New York City who was hired by the Floyd family to conduct the independent autopsy. |
