Updates from UPMC
As of today, the news remains encouraging for COVID-19 hospitalization rates and testing across UPMC. Our facilities continue to respond exceptionally well in managing COVID-19 cases. While we are past the peak and our COVID-19 caseload remains low, we are well-prepared for future cases.

At the same time, we think it is important to remind everyone to talk to their doctors about any continuing care or preventive screenings that may have been postponed in recent weeks. COVID-19 concerns are at the forefront of our focus on delivering safe patient care, but we recognize that certain treatments, diagnostic tests, and procedures are necessary to help protect you from the potential harm associated with other diseases and conditions.

If you have questions about your mammogram, colonoscopy, or other annual screenings and preventive services, you should talk to your doctor so you can make an informed decision about your care. We are committed to protecting our high-risk patients but realize that for many others, the risks associated with skipping or postponing care can be significant.

Over the past month, we have been able to connect many patients with care through video visits. For appointments that cannot be handled virtually, we have taken many precautions and put in place extensive safety measures to protect our patients. Again, we recommend consulting with your doctor to determine which path of care is best for you.

As always, we are here for you, and we thank you for choosing and trusting UPMC.
