An exhibition of Cockburn artists: 20-28 March

It's 'take 2' of Show Off 16, Cockburn's annual art exhibition featuring pieces from over 65 Cockburn creatives, all set against the backdrop of the beautiful and historical Memorial Hall.

The week-long exhibition 'shows off' the amazing talent we have right here in Cockburn. From an artist who grew up in a New Norcia mission, one from Columbia and another who has documented the effects of climate change on islands in the Indian Ocean, it's all on display at Show Off 16!

The exhibition features acrylics on canvas, oil paintings, abstract sculptures, textiles, drawings and more, and it's FREE to see! All pieces are for sale.

Open daily from Saturday 20 - Sunday 28 March, 10am-3pm.

New restrooms at Omeo Park, North Coogee

Have we got the draft designs for the new restrooms at Omeo Park in North Coogee right? The designs include a building with accessible toilets, shade, seating and storage, all priorities identified by the community.

One of the challenges with Omeo Park is the lack of public restrooms, so in mid-2020 we asked our community what they thought about the amenities at the park. Using this feedback, we started the design process incorporating the priorities identified by our community. Omeo Park is located at the southern end of Port Coogee and provides access to the Omeo shipwreck and Coogee Maritime Trail.

Have we got the draft designs right?
We are inviting further community feedback on the draft building design to check if we got it right. The designs, online survey and further information will be COMING SOON, so watch the Comment on Cockburn website for more.
  • Online survey (coming soon) - Complete by 4pm Tuesday 30 March
  • Email comment@cockburn.wa.gov.au

Make Radiata Park more appealing

ATTENTION residents of Aubin Grove. Statistics tell us that by 2031, teenagers and young adults will represent the largest population increase in Aubin Grove/Banjup (south). This is why we want to hear from you on how we can make Radiata Park in Aubin Grove more appealing to those aged 15-24.

Attend two workshops on 3 and 6 March to discuss the visioning and preferences for Radiata Park.
  1. Workshop 1: visioning for Radiata Park - we will look at the background of the project, explore feedback from young people and discuss possibilities for the park.
Wednesday 3 March, 3.30-4.30 OR 5.45-6.45pm, Mooditj Mia (Main Hall), City of Cockburn Youth Centre, 25 Wentworth Parade, Success
  2. Workshop 2: preferences for Radiata Park - we will explore the outcomes from Workshop 1 and identify preferences for the park
Saturday 6 March, 9-10am, Radiata Park, Radiata Promenade, Aubin Grove
Register for the workshops
Is your dog happy at the park?

We often assume that our dog wants to visit the park for exercise or to have some fun. Like children, this is often not the case. They all have different personalities. There are some days when they don’t feel like socializing, are tired or not wanting the company of a lot of dogs all with different play styles.

If you get to the park and your dog is not having fun:
  • Take them on a long walk
  • Play with dogs of similar play styles
  • Play with a small group of dogs
  • Visit the park when it’s quieter.
Even if your dog is having a blast, remember to take short breaks to keep them calm, and reward any good behaviour with treats or something similar.

Could your business do with a 'parklet'?

A ‘parklet’ is a pop-up facility within a carpark space in the road reserve that is temporarily transformed into a space for people. A parklet can consist of public seating, bike parking, landscaping, shade, public art, games and activities.

If you believe a parklet would enhance your business and would like advice on whether a parklet would be possible, email
