Good evening folks,

As we head into the weekend, a reminder that lockdown measures in Scotland remain unchanged - particularly worth noting over the bank holiday. Even if the weather stays as sultry and warm as it has been, it's vital we stick to the restrictions to give the country the best chance of getting to grips with the virus.

UK prime minister Boris Johnson is set to address the nation on Sunday but despite headlines earlier this week suggesting a shake-up in lockdown restrictions, a senior Westminster source has indicated that very little is likely to change.

In Scotland we are due to hear more about proposed plans to extend the one-hour window of exercise each day but beyond that, measures remain in place for good reason.

Take care and stay safe,

Your Scotsman team
