Putting the ‘D’ in Delivery: New takeout option a sight for sore eyesIt’s staggering just how many businesses have been hurt by the coronavirus pandemic. But not every business owner is giving up. Some are choosing to adapt to the climate of social distancing, but what is a joint like a strip club supposed to do with no customers? Enter “Boober Eats,” the brainchild of Sean Bolden, who owns a club in Portland. With no visitors to the club in recent days, Bolden had the idea of pivoting to food delivery. Now, instead of performing, the girls handle the deliveries while the bouncers drive. And so far, the operation has been a huge success. Wait times for Uber Eats and Grubhub are long, but Boober Eats gets the job done faster — for a slightly higher price tag, of course. And just like at a strip club, these deliveries are “touch-free.” Enjoy the sights while you can. Soon, it’ll only be robots doing the drop-offs. Tap or click here to see what delivery drivers will look like in the near future. → |
