Council says Cantrell mailer violated the law: In the final days of the recall campaign against her, Mayor LaToya Cantrell's administration spent $51,000 in public funds on a mailer that went out to more than 100,000 New Orleans households touting her accomplishments. Now, a city council investigation has determined this use of public funds for a political purpose was "a clear violation of state law." Saul Pink has the details. Meanwhile, Cantrell's use of a city-owned apartment at the Upper Pontalba building in the French Quarter has drawn scrutiny again from the Inspector General's Office. Joseph Cranny has the story.
