MEDIA LOSER: Eric Clapton
Eric Clapton penned a letter detailing his “disastrous” reactions to the coronavirus vaccine — which turned into a rant blaming what he called the “propaganda” that promoted the vaccine’s safety. Clapton detailed his experience in a letter to Robin Monotti Graziadei, an Italian architect and film producer with a history of going after the Covid-19 vaccine — calling his reactions “disastrous.” “In February this year, before I learned about the nature of the vaccines, (and being 76 with ephezyma [sic]) I was in the avant garde,” he wrote in the letter, which was shared on Telegram and verified by Rolling Stone. He detailed his multiple bad reactions, including numbness in his hands, and saying he worried he'd never play again. Then he expanded into anti-vaccine anger. “The propaganda said the vaccine was safe for everyone," Clapton said. He denounced government “rhetoric” and “the devotion of the general public” to it. He characterized his rant as being part of his "passive rebellion" against "tyranny and arrogant authority." Clapton also collaborated with Van Morrison last year on a track trashing lockdowns and accusing the U.K. government of attacking personal freedoms. Clapton faced huge backlash then and now for embracing and encouraging anti-vax sentiment, and for using an individual side effect to stoke fear and paranoia. |
