Australia's Federal Court had ordered Apple to pay $9 million in penalties for making false and misleading statements to customers with faulty iPhones and iPads, about their rights under Australian Consumer Law.

The directors of the au Domain Administration, the body responsible for the au namespace, have moved to shield chief executive Cameron Boardman, by agreeing not to allow a resolution calling for him to step down at a forthcoming special general meeting to be considered.

The saga of Chinese telecommunications firm ZTE Corporation does not seem to be over yet, with the US Senate delivering a punch in the face to President Donald Trump with the passage of legislation that reinstates a seven-year ban on the company.

An appeal by Apple against a judgment that allowed a class-action lawsuit by iPhone buyers over the commissions that the firm gets through its App Store will now be heard by the US Supreme Court.
