Chatting to Willie Geist on his Sunday Sitdown podcast, the actor revealed that she was "one hell of a salesman" when she worked at a swimming pool store in her twenties.
Cox revealed further that her father suggested she return home to Alabama from California when she went through a tough time finding acting jobs.
"I did work in a swimming pool store, and I was one hell of a salesman ... there was a period where I didn't have any money. I was down to about a month, and my dad thought I should come home and do what I do. Sales."
