Question: where can you find historic glamour, colourful art installations, over 55 spots to dine al fresco and a massive display of pumpkins? Answer: Covent Garden. London’s iconic Piazza and surrounding streets are crackling with one-off events and autumnal-themed fun from October onwards. Part of the party atmosphere comes courtesy of the extension to their al fresco dining plan, with many of the area’s restaurants and cafes making the most of their killer locations to seat diners where they can admire those iconic rooftops while enjoying a world class dumpling, macaron or California roll.
There’s also a whole month of super sweet sipping to be had as London Cocktail Week grows into London Cocktail Month - and has its multisensory experimental hub ‘The Essence House’ on Floral Street - plus the return of the pumpkin market and a spooky street food pop up in time for Halloween. Head there before 10 October and you’ll also be able to see Chila Burman’s gorgeous neon installation while doing some much needed retail therapy to boost your post-lockdown look.
And to think it used to just be a place to buy your fruit and veg...
