Note from the ACDIS Editor

A guide to program maturation

by Linnea Archibald

The whole world is living in a time of transition right now as the COVID-19 situation develops day-by-day. CDI teams have had to adapt to remote work, changing patient census numbers, taking on additional duties, and occasionally even taking furloughs. While these changes have happened at a breakneck pace, CDI programs go through evolutions even under normal circumstances.

For the May/June edition of the CDI Journal, we want to help you through those evolutionary stages—from program launch to advanced program levels. To help you navigate the edition and leverage it to its full extent, Associate Editor Carolyn Riel and I have marked each of our “feature length” articles in the table of contents with a “B” for “beginner,” an “I” for “intermediate,” and an “A” for “advanced.”

Blog Highlight

Here's what's been published on the ACDIS Blog in the last week:

Do you have a tip, story, or perspective to share with the broader ACDIS and CDI community? If you’re interested in writing a piece for the Blog, here are a couple guidelines for you:

  • Length: Typically, 500-700 words. If your post is longer, we may break it into two posts for readability.
  • Content: All things CDI (and coding too)! We love hearing about your experiences and the lessons you’ve learned about CDI along the way.

Besides those two guidelines, all you have to do is submit your piece to ACDIS Editor Linnea Archibald (larchibald@acdis.org) and Associate Editor Carolyn Riel (criel@acdis.org).
