The State Government imposed COVID-19 Circuit Breaker Lockdown has been extended in Metropolitan Melbourne, including the City of Brimbank until 11.59pm, Thursday 10 June with some modifications.

There are still only 5 reasons to leave your home:

  • Shopping (limited to one person per day, per household)
  • Authorised work
  • Caregiving or compassionate reasons
  • Exercise for up to two hours with one other person
  • To get vaccinated. 

Essential retail will remain open while non-essential retail can open for click and collect only.   QR Code Check-In is mandatory in all retail including supermarkets and hardware stores.

Shopping is limited to 10km from your place of residence and face masks must be worn in all public spaces.

Outdoor Jobs such as Landscaping, painting, home maintenance/renovations, solar panel installation, mobile pet grooming and letterboxing can resume. 

 

Restaurants and Cafes can trade via home delivery and take-away only.

 

Hairdressing, beauty and gyms remain closed. 

 

Council will continue to provide updates as information becomes available, including information about financial support or other assistance that is announced by the State Government.

Business Costs Assistance Program

The program provides grants of up to $5,000 for eligible businesses most impacted by the state government lockdown. This includes businesses operating in an industry that cannot operate under the circuit breaker restrictions and which cannot work remotely.

Applications open this Thursday 3 June 2021 for three weeks.

Licensed Hospitality Venue Fund 2021

This program provides eligible businesses holding a current liquor licence and food certificate with a grant of up to $7,000 per premises.

Victorian Events Support Package

This package supports operators in the events industry who have incurred losses due to the circuit breaker restrictions.

The State Government now requires all venues and businesses to undertake electronic record keeping and mandatory use of the free Victorian Government QR Code Service through the Service Victoria app.

Make sure you’re adhering to the current COVID-19 restrictions

  • All businesses must have an active, up-to-date COVIDSafe Plan.
  • Keep accurate records and ensure your staff and visitors register their details for contact tracing.
  • All businesses must record contact details for anyone on their premises for 15 minutes or more, including staff, customers and suppliers.
  • Electronic record keeping is required for many venues to access the higher density limit of 1 person per 2sqm. The Victorian Government QR Code Service is easy to use and free.
  • Download and display signage to remind people of the need to check in, and other safety measures.
  • If you or your workers have even mild COVID-19 symptoms, please get tested.
