By Drew Broach | Deputy metro editorNOT AGAIN? New Orleans officials raised the specter Tuesday of again requiring masks for large public events - and even another lockdown - as the number of new COVID-19 cases in the city has more than doubled in one month. Coronavirus infections and hospitalizations are up statewide, too. FUGITIVE IN THE BUFF: A New Orleans woman pleaded not guilty Tuesday to killing a man in Harvey and fashioning an unusual alibi for allegedly fleeing the scene: She stripped naked and ran off, later telling investigators she had been kidnapped and her clothes ripped away by men who were chasing her. BANKROLLED: The signup period for New Orleans municipal elections begins Wednesday, and we've got the details on all the candidates' latest campaign finance reports. All this and much more are in today’s Front Page and on NOLA.com. Thanks for starting your day with us. D.B. |
