We are writing you today to let you know that we're assessing the developing situation of COVID-19 here in Ottawa regularly and are changing our procedures based on recommendations made by Ottawa Public Health.
The Ottawa Tool Library takes the health and safety of our volunteers, guests, and partners very seriously. As an organization that is all about making our community a better place for all, our decisions are made with the best interests of you, our community, in mind. At this point in time the Tool Library remains open with regular hours and our team is taking extra precautions.
What we're doing: - Suspending all our events and workshops for March with a full refund to all attendees.
- Intensified cleaning & disinfecting of surfaces in our space.
- All tools will be disinfected when they are returned.
- Encouraging volunteers and members to stay home if they are feeling unwell and self-isolate for 14 days.
- Following advisories and best practices of other organizations to escalate precautions as required.
What you can do: - Wash your hands before and after entering the library with soap for at least 20 seconds. Hand washing remains the most consistently advised and effective prevention for the spread of COVID-19. Soap and towels are at your disposal at OTL.
- Remain home if you or someone you live with is unwell.
- Self-isolate for 14 days after travelling.
- Rest and take care of yourself and others - a strong immune system and community support is our best defence.
If you, or anyone you know, has been diagnosed with COVID-19, it is extremely important that you inform us as soon as possible so we can take further steps to protect our community and comply with public health orders. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out. Stay safe & help each other out! It is times like these that remind us of the strength in community. The OTL team |
