More than 1,200 new coronavirus cases

The latest Covid-19 figures have been announced. A further 1,212 cases have been confirmed and 45 new deaths recorded in the last 24 hours.

It's a slight drop since yesterday, when there was the highest death toll announced since back in May.

The Scottish Government hopes to publish the latest R number in the country - which is expected to be 'hovering around one', according to First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.

'Very real risk' of Covid vaccine conspiracy theorists

There is a 'very real risk' of people believing in conspiracy theories about the Covid-19 vaccine, the First Minister said today.

But Nicola Sturgeon said at FMQs the Scottish Government would make all information about the new vaccine readily available. She also said it would be going through enough tests to make sure it's safe.
