Former U.S. Secretary of State and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Colin L. Powell, who was the first African American to hold both offices, died Monday morning from COVID-19 complications. Powell, who was 84, was fully vaccinated.
Police have identified a "self-radicalized" suspect in the brutal murder of Conservative British MP Sir David Amess. The man, 25-year-old Ali Harbi Ali, is the son of a former prime ministerial adviser in Somalia.
Authorities in Haiti say the 400 Mawazoo gang is behind Saturday's kidnapping of 17 Christian missionaries. The gang, which is also suspected of abducting five priests and two nuns earlier in the year, was responsible for approximately 80% of all abductions in the country between June and September.

Christian parents are taking legal action against the British government for what is being described as "politically partisan" transgender guidelines being implemented in schools nationwide. The guidelines, which aim to affirm transgenderism through actions such as allowing students to cross-dress and enter opposite-sex bathrooms, were first published by pro-transgender campaigners in 2015.
