Newly released data from Grey Matter Research and Infinity Concepts has revealed that less than 10% of evangelical Protestants want to have shorter sermons during worship, while around one-third want more in-depth teaching. “This demonstrates an opportunity for pastors to go deeper into the Word of God. This is good news at a time in our culture when biblical literacy is so low — there appears to be a desire among evangelicals to deepen their understanding of biblical truth," Infinity Concepts CEO Mark Dreistadt says.
Harold Cronk, director of the popular "God's Not Dead" film franchise, has penned a children's book aimed at helping fathers bond with their children amid the modern-day "gender identity crisis." The Presbyterian Church (USA) has added an observance called “Per Capita Sunday” to its calendar in the hopes of fostering a better understanding of its funding system among congregations. “Per capita” is the term that PCUSA uses to describe the system by which the internal functioning of the denomination is funded, such as its agencies and the Office of General Assembly.
In a sermon Sunday, Andy Stanley, the pastor of North Point Ministries, urged Christians to stop making excuses, saying that many professing believers construct a "paper wall" that holds them back from living a God-glorifying life. "Excuses get passed off as reasons, and excuses easily become, in the real world, ‘becauses,’ because all of us have some ‘becauses’ that we habitually hide behind when certain things come up," he told the congregation.
North Carolina Pastor Frank Jacobs pleaded guilty to tax and wire fraud last week after being accused of filing a false tax return and using fraudulent information to obtain a $52,000 loan from the federal government’s coronavirus relief program for small businesses. Jacobs, who reportedly earned nearly $400,000 in just one year, took to Facebook Live on Sunday to apologize for embarrassing the church.

Christian speaker and author Sadie Robertson Huff revealed she's had a rough start to the new year, battling both the flu and COVID-19 while dealing with a rodent issue in her home that forced her to preach at the Passion 2022 conference digitally. "I was so thankful that God gave me the strength to still preach my message to an empty room despite being so sick," Huff said in an Instagram post.
Jeff Crouere writes about the growing trend of Americans fleeing "blue" cities and states led by progressive Democrats in favor of "red" communities led by Republicans. "Democrats love big government and implement progressive economic policies, such as high taxes and oppressive bureaucracy, which hamper the ability of businesses and individuals to succeed and economically prosper. In 'blue' states, citizens must deal with COVID-19 mandates, which force them to wear masks and take vaccines, regardless of their personal or religious beliefs," he asserts.
