The European Court of Human Rights has rejected a complaint against a Christian bakery in Northern Ireland that refused to make a cake supporting gay marriage on religious grounds. “The UK Supreme Court engaged at length with the human rights arguments in this case and upheld the McArthurs’ rights to freedom of expression and religion. It was disappointing to see another attempt to undermine those rights, so it is a relief that the attempt has failed,” Christian Institute spokesman Simon Calvert said in a statement.
Two scholars shared conflicting views during a Wednesday panel discussion hosted by the Religious Freedom Institute about a proposed compromise bill that would codify a ban on LGBT discrimination into federal law while protecting the religious freedom of faith-based organizations and individuals. "We seem to have adopted … a posture, an automatic defaulting to a posture of narrow exceptions for religious freedom, a kind of leave-us-alone mentality, a kind of siloed approach," David Trimble, the Religious Freedom Institute's vice president for public policy cautioned. Christian Post Executive Editor Richard D. Land discusses mortality and the importance of keeping one's eye on the prize to hear the words, "Well done, thy good and faithful servant." In exploring how to make that goal a reality, Land looks to Ezra in the Old Testament: "Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the Lord, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments." A Catholic high school in Illinois has lost its top donor after hiring a lacrosse coach in a same-sex marriage, thereby causing concern that it has abandoned “its adherence to the doctrines of the Catholic faith.” Benet Academy is not the only Chicago-area Catholic school facing backlash for appearing to embrace an ideology that directly contradicts Catholic Church teaching. Last year, Ethics and Public Policy Center scholar Noelle Mering wrote an op-ed highlighting parents’ concerns with actions taken by the Chicago-area Loyola Academy. Specifically, “students were racially segregated for school assignments on privilege.”
Pastor David Platt challenged young Christians to avoid "casual, comfortable, cultural Christianity" that turns a blind eye to the unreached, warning that getting caught up in the American dream will result in a wasted life. “Don’t do it. Lift your eyes above the distractions,” he urged.
Conservative groups are slamming one of President Joe Biden’s judicial nominees for her work on behalf of the Southern Poverty Law Center, a company that has likened organizations that oppose abortion and same-sex marriage to “hate groups.” In a letter to the leaders of the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday, Lt. Gen. Jerry Boykin of the Family Research Council and more than two dozen leaders of conservative organizations expressed opposition to the president’s nomination of Nancy Abudu to fill a vacancy on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, writing, "Ms. Abudu currently serves as the strategic litigation director for the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), a corrupt organization infamous for its decades-long managerial corruption and notorious for unscrupulously designating its political opponents as ‘hate groups’ or ‘extremists.'"
For the third year in a row, abortions have been the leading cause of death worldwide, with more than three times as many people losing their lives to abortion than the second leading cause of death. Worldometer, a database that keeps track of statistics on health, the global population and other metrics in real-time, determines the number of abortions performed worldwide based on data obtained from the World Health Organization. The last available snapshot of the tracker, which was captured by the Wayback Machine as it appeared on New Year's Eve, revealed that around 42.6 million abortions were performed globally in 2021.
Four-time Emmy Award-winning actress Kathie Lee Gifford believes many Christians in the Western world have greatly misunderstood the gifts of the Spirit. Appearing on "Life Today" with guest host Sheila Walsh, Gifford explained, "There’s so much mystery surrounding it and there shouldn’t be. Because once you understand — once you meet the people that have these gifts, and you see the way that they use them for the Kingdom of God, any bias you have about it is dispelled because you see what’s done in the name of the Lord Jesus.”

Jews make up only two percent of the U.S. population, yet sixty percent of hate crimes related to religion are directed against Jews. Baseless hatred of people often goes hand in hand with bizarre claims in order to stir violence and fear towards them. In my new book, Conspiracy U: A Case Study(Wicked Son, 2021), I demonstrate how professors in academia - specifically, Northwestern University - break away from rational thinking into the dangerous waters of conspiracy theories. You would think in academia, professors would understand the differences between a conspiracy theory and a theory, though that is not the case these days. My alma mater, Northwestern University, has professors that attempt to make arguments that they portray as scholarly discourses - when in reality, they are merely conspiracy theories dressed up with fancy words. Conspiracy U takes readers through the journey of Jewish history and how Israel is central to both Judaism and Christianity. Students should be able to rely on professors to teach facts and not to display blatant biases... read more
