Major reform outside government agreements becoming more difficult

Implementation of major tax reforms is practically impossible if political parties have not agreed on the subject in their government agreement. This is shown in the study on âThe political economy of tax reformâ by Arjan Lejour of CPB Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis, published today at the annual CPB Lecture. This is the first study into which factors would have an impact on the ultimate implementation of tax reform measures in the Netherlands.
