What should be covered by medical staff bylaws?

Bylaws are rules and a framework adopted by an organization chiefly for the government of its members and the management of its affairs. In general, bylaws should outline the administrative structure of the medical staff, how high-level decisions will be made in the organization, core due process rights of members, and the mechanism for adoption and amendment of governing documents. As noted throughout this book, medical staffs that must comply with Joint Commission standards will require much more detailed bylaws than staffs accredited by other entities.

Texas Appellate Court: Firing a partner is not a breach of contract if contract allows for termination without reason

The Fifth District Texas Court of Appeals at Dallas (the “Court”) affirmed a trial court decision ruling that a surgery center did not breach a contract when it terminated a partnership with a physician who refused to perform an illegal act because the contract specifically stated that said partner can be fired for either any reason or for no reason at all.
