Hi John! One of my children loves the stage more than I love coffee -- which is saying a lot! For the last three years, they've been attending an acting camp in San Francisco, which is a solid hour from our home. The first year, I bounced around from co-working spaces to coffee shops to hotel lobbies during their camp day. Now, in our third year, I've got it down to a science! I found a free co-working space around the corner from camp (score!) that's become my new office/studio. Unwilling to give up my art journal habit, I brought along the other day for some on-site doodling. Now, this isn't my preferred creative environment. My comfort zone is in my studio with all my favorite tools and minimal interruptions. Co-working spaces are noisy and crowded, and personal space is limited. Because I want you to see how awkward art can be: full of mistakes, bad compositional choices, and unsuccessful color schemes. But that's not the point! The point is to keep the habit going and get ideas down. Some days will be winners and others...not so much. While I don't love how this journal spread turned out, I do love that I:
