Meanwhile, the long-awaited aviation white paper has 56 initiatives designed to reform the industry and promote greater competition, which will turn up the heat on Qantas and Virgin Australia.

And Wealth editor James Kirby says gold investors are buying up the precious metal via ETFs on expectations the US Federal Reserve will begin to cut interest rates.
