We have a free leadership coaching programme, which is designed to help our researchers reach their full potential and progress further in their careers. Take part, and you’ll be paired with a coach with senior leadership experience to identify your potential growth and work on your own goals.

The scheme is open to CRUK Fellows, Junior Group Leaders at our institutes, mid-career and senior CRUK-funded researchers with leadership responsibilities, junior postdocs in some cases and senior postdocs aspiring to establish their own independence as a research group leader.

Working with patients to make research more accessible

How do you turn a 20-page article, written for a highly specialised audience of radiotherapy physicists, computer scientists and engineers, into an accessible output for a lay audience?

We recently published a mini-series of articles about a PPIE project to co-create an information sheet based on a paper in Physics in Medicine and Biology.

In the first article, PPI co-ordinator Lisa Whittaker and researcher Catarina Veiga discuss how they worked with patients to understand their experiences of radiotherapy, their concerns about treatment and their interests in the research itself to support its dissemination.
