Meet the latest grant awardees selected by our Research Careers Committee

Congratulations to the latest researchers receiving fellowships and bursaries from our Research Careers Committee:

Heather Machado and Haiyan Zheng were selected for Career Development Fellowships. Richard Mair received an Advanced Clinician Scientist Fellowship, and Bethan Psaila received a Senior Cancer Research Fellowship.

Kishen Patel received a Pre-doctoral Research Bursary, and Meera Patel received a Postdoctoral Research Bursary.

The UKRI are seeking to appoint up to 21 council members across eight of their councils including the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research council, the Medical Research council, the Science and Technology Facilities council and Research England

Tom Beer (Exact Sciences) will moderate the conversation with Li Li (US Preventive Services Task Force), Sian Taylor-Phillips (University of Warwick), Hilary Robbins (International Agency for Research on Cancer) and Ruth Etzioni (Fred Hutch Cancer Center).

Apply now for the free Spatial Biology Data Challenge

We’re looking for a cross-sectoral, multidisciplinary mix of researchers and innovators across a range of biological, computational and clinical disciplines to join our data challenge.

Using new spatial transcriptomic datasets from patients with adenoma and carcinoma, participants will develop new tools to improve our ability to predict and model cancer, enabling earlier detection and even prevention - ultimately leading to better outcomes for patients.

This free residential event, hosted in partnership with the MRC National Mouse Genetics Network will take place on 25-28 November 2024 in Glasgow. Domestic travel, accommodation and meal costs will be covered.
