Analog Devices to buy chipmaker Linear for $14.8 billion Chipmaker Analog Devices announced that it is buying peer Linear Technology in a cash and stock transaction valued at $14.8 billion. The combination of the two publicly traded companies provides consolidation in the market for analog chips, which process signals such as sound, light and temperature and convert them into digital signals. Augmented helmet maker Skully said to close Skully, maker of an augmented reality motorcycle helmet said to increase riders’ visibility and situational awareness, has ceased operations, according to a TechCrunch report.
