Dear Yogi,

Compassion literally means “to suffer together,” but what does that mean?

Tara Brach describes compassion as the act of allowing ourselves to be deeply touched by the vulnerability and suffering that exists within ourselves and all beings. She emphasises that true compassion involves not only attuning to the presence of suffering but also taking responsive action – it encompasses a heartfelt response to alleviate suffering and make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Compassion does not require us to have the ability to solve every problem or provide immediate assistance… The sincere intention and the genuine care we offer can hold immeasurable value, irrespective of the outcome or our ability to offer tangible solutions. Check out our articles and classes below to learn more about compassion and how to amplify your own!

"I felt what I was looking for and deeply connected with kindness. The approach of entering poses little-by-little was lovely and so enjoyable. The shift into practicing this way was appreciated by my body as not only a lovely experience, but as exactly what it should be – deep, soft with kindness. I am very grateful to you."
