Cunard launches Queen Anne |

Cunard’s newest ship, Queen Anne®, will have a spectacular naming ceremony in the company’s spiritual home of Liverpool, England. The event will take place on the world-famous Mersey waterfront on Monday, June 3, during a celebratory “lap of honour” voyage around the British Isles.
Queen Anne is expected to arrive in Liverpool on the Mersey soon after sunrise. Plans are being made for her arrival to include a special salute to the city where Cunard® launched its pioneering transatlantic service—and passenger shipping itself—in 1840 and where the iconic Cunard Building forms the centrepiece of the Three Graces, a collection of striking harbourside buildings.
The 14-night British Isles Festival Voyage will depart Southampton on May 24 and make maiden calls to South Queensferry (with tours to Edinburgh), Invergordon, Greenock, Belfast, and Liverpool. Guests sailing on the voyage will have an exclusive opportunity to join the naming celebrations before a spectacular, late-evening departure bound for Cobh, followed by her return to Southampton.
The event in Liverpool is expected to draw tens of thousands of spectators to vantage points alongside the river at Pier Head, between New Brighton and Seacombe on Wirral, and on beaches at Formby and Crosby in Sefton.

Cunard has teamed up with the British Film Institute (BFI) to curate a program of short films and beloved blockbusters shown exclusively on the outdoor screen in The Pavilion aboard Queen Anne.
The Pavilion is an idyllic open-air oasis on the top deck of Cunard’s newest ship, and the BFI will show 10 films every month on the cinematic LED screen in this romantic outdoor space. These specially selected films will also be shown in guests’ staterooms.
As a multi-purpose space, The Pavilion boasts a specially designed glass dome roof that retracts in warmer climates. Inspired by beautiful glasshouses, it is the ideal spot for getting lost in a book or enjoying a dip in the pool by day and for meeting new friends over a glass of wine in the evening. |
