MEP Engineered S01E03: District cooling in Dubai and Abu Dhabi
District cooling is one of the nine strategic pillars in Dubai Supreme Council of Energy’s Demand Side Management strategy, towards achieving 30% power savings in the emirate by 2030. With government initiatives like this, there appears to be a greater opportunity for growth for the district cooling market in the region, industry experts say. In this episode of MEP Engineered – a weekly series by MEP Middle East and #Construction Week – Faisal Rashid, director, Demand Side Management, Supreme Council of Energy, says that every big project in Dubai and Abu Dhabi is going to adopt district cooling. Rashid also touched upon the subject of overdesign in district cooling.
